As expectations of leaders continue to evolve, understanding psychosocial health is becoming an essential leadership capability. Leaders are increasingly expected to recognise signs of pressure within their teams, identify emerging psychosocial risks, and respond in constructive, practical ways. At the same time, many leaders are navigating competing priorities, workforce pressures, and ongoing organisational change. These demands can create complex challenges that shape culture and impact psychosocial health across teams.
This 60-minute webinar is designed for all leaders. It offers a practical introduction to psychosocial health from a leadership perspective, with a focus on what sits within a leader’s circle of influence. Drawing on research and workplace insights, the session explores two key factors that are especially relevant in local government settings:
supporting role clarity in dynamic environments
managing increasing job demands and workplace pressures
Participants will also be introduced to practical strategies to support their teams and themselves when pressure inevitably rises.
Key topics:
What psychosocial health is and critical factors
The critical role of leaders
Managing role clarity and competing priorities
Understanding workload and job demand pressures
Practical actions for supporting team psychosocial health
Participants will leave with:
A stronger understanding of psychosocial health and leadership responsibilities
Greater insight into two key psychosocial risks impacting local government
Increased awareness of what leaders can influence and control
