LGPro President Sue Wilkinson today launched the association's Diversity and Inclusion Strategy.
LGPro released its plan to see through its vision of empowering everyone in the local government workforce at the LGPro Women’s Forum in Melbourne.
The strategy - which includes the first year’s action plan - acts as a roadmap for supporting and building an inclusive local government workforce and an inclusive member association that supports it.
“This strategy was shaped by 250 pieces of feedback from members and local government professionals, and it's designed to help us all be better, more accountable, and more inclusive in everything we do at LGPro,” said Sue Wilkinson during the opening address at the conference.
“Inclusion isn’t something that is aspirational - we see it as essential to our sector’s sustainability.
“We've made some real progress on gender equity in local government, and this forum is proof of that. But there's more work to do.
“This strategy is our commitment to ensuring that every LGPro program, every event, every leadership opportunity works for everyone, regardless of your background, ability, or experience.”
