Newly crowned Logie winner Jelena Dokic is bringing her unbreakable story to women in local government this October.
The tennis star’s documentary, 'Unbreakable: The Jelena Dokic Story' took the trophy for Best Factual or Documentary Program over the weekend, with a shocked Jelena given 30 seconds for an improvised but moving acceptance speech.
The former top-four athlete will have much more than a half-minute when she brings her story to the stage as the special guest speaker at LGPro’s 2025 Women’s Network Dinner on Thursday 23 October.
Beyond the tennis court, Jelena has become an influential voice - a revered commentator, author, and now award-winning documentarian.
Jelena has bravely shared her story through the pages of two bestselling books, 'Unbreakable' and 'Fearless,' and will share the profound journey of reclaiming one's voice and strength with women working in councils across Victoria.
The premier professional development event for women in the sector, the Women’s Network Dinner will include the awarding of young women championing their communities along with council staff investing in their careers.
Nominations are now open for the 2025 Sally Isaac Memorial Scholarship Fund Award for women 35 and under.
Nominations are also open for the 2025 ALGWA Vic Bursary Award, supporting women in local government to develop their careers.
Scholarships are open to women in small rural councils including direct financial support to help them access the event.
Registrations to LGPro’s Women’s Forum and Dinner on 23 October are now open.
