Rainbow Network

About the SIG

The longstanding LGPro Rainbow Network Special Interest Group is making a comeback in 2018. With marriage equality now a reality and a stronger focus on diversity in Local Government and our communities, the group aims to focus on the sharing of learnings, experiences and resources related to the LGBTIQ+ community and in particular Rainbow Tick accreditation.

  Online Community

This SIG is supported by an online community. We believe that accessing knowledge from individuals who work in a similar environment is invaluable and should never be underestimated. Our communities are only for people working in Local Government and there are many benefits to participating in them. They are a great way to keep in touch in between meetings, by asking your fellow SIG colleagues questions and sharing resources. You can also see who else is involved in the SIG and get in touch with them quickly.  Agendas, minutes, presentations and other SIG resources will also be posted on the online community.

Pride March 2019

Summer is fast approaching, which means Midsumma, and the annual LGBTIQA+ Pride March isn't far behind. Celebrating community, equality and representation, Pride March embodies all the values that LGPro advocate all year round. And to be a truly welcoming and inclusive organisation, we can't just talk the talk, we need to walk the walk. LGPro is a proud supporter of Pride March and have marched for the past five years in support of our LGBTIQA+ Local Government members, family, friends and wider community. It's been a big year following on from the Marriage Equality plebiscite, but there are still plenty of battles ahead before we get to true quality for all.

We'd love you for you join on Sunday 3 February 2019 and show your Pride, because we can't do it alone! Whether an ally or member of the community, now is a great time to get on board and show your support. We invite everyone to join LGPro in raising the banner of support for our diverse gender and sexuality communities in Local Government. If you would like to join us in marching under the LGPro banner at the 2019 Pride March, please register your interest by emailing at michellec@lgpro.com by Thursday 31 January 2019.

Have any questions? Get in touch at info@lgpro.com or giving us a call on 03 9268 6400.
