About the conference


The 2018 LGPro Social Media Conference was held on Wednesday 9 May at CQ Functions, 113 Queen Street, Melbourne. 

This one day conference is for people working in the digital media, communications, corporate services and community development space in Local Government.

2018 program


The 2018 Social Media Conference focused on how Councils can best engage their communities through social media and online tools.

The conference featured:

  • Keynote presentation by Amy Churchouse, founder of Good Karma Network
  • Six interactive sessions covering topics such as 'Creating Storyboards & DIY videos' and 'Digital Media in a Construction Blitz'
  • Lightning Talks to showcase innovative digital media projects that Councils have undertaken
  • On the Couch session 'Making it Matter', facilitated by Cameron Gray

2018 Conference Highlights

Thanks to the 130 people working in communications and social media roles in the sector who supported our 2018 Social Media Conference, which ran on 9 May at CQ Functions.

The conference featured a great line of up speakers including keynote Amy Churchouse, founder of the Good Karma Networks; and blogger Annie Nolan aka Uncanny Annie. We also had a number of thought provoking interactive sessions, as well as a panel conversation facilated by LGPro Vice President Cameron Gray to round off the day.
