LGPro continues to work with Local Government Victoria (LGV) on the implementation plan for the Local Government Bill 2019
in anticipation of its passage through Parliament in March 2020. Our objective is to ensure that you are provided with clear guidance regarding the pending new legislative requirements ensuring you have access to up to date information.
To support all 79 Councils, LGPro with DELWP scheduled two LG Act information sessions
, to coincide with the anticipated timing for the passing of the Bill. More than 150 people working in Councils across the State attended the information sessions that we facilitated in conjunction with our Annual Conference. Local Government Victoria Executive Director, Graeme Emonson led the workshops providing guidance on what the pending new legislative requirements would mean for Councils.
Thank you to Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning for delivering the sessions to Council officers, and to Victorian Chamber of Commerce and Industry for hosting us in their board room.
In addition LGPro will provide ongoing support in the sector with the implementation of the pending new Act:
- Delivering up to 12 Caretaker Period Workshops (which will include LG Act Implementation information) from Thursday 6 February across Victoria. Please book online at Caretaker Period Workshops
- Hosting Webinar information sessions (to be advised from February 2020)
- Providing frequent information updates on our website, YSYN and in the Member Resource Library
