The Principal Activities Centres Special Interest Group is open to all Local Government officers responsible for implementing the Transit City project in their respective councils (place managers, project managers, planners, engineers, economic developers, social planners, etc).

The primary functions of the group are to:
• Act as a forum to discuss the Transit Cities program
• Sharing information and ideas on Transit City projects
• Networking
• Lobby/advocate promoting the Transit City program
• Act as a central group for Transit City queries in Local Government
• Host Transit City training, seminars and workshops
• Work in partnership with the State Government implementing the Transit City program.
