I met with David Latina yesterday regarding progres= son the community lease issue for local government.

 

David has now received and revi= ewed the legal advicefrom Senior Counsel and anticipates briefing the (new)= Minister shortly on boththe impact of the Retail Leases Act 2003on local government community leases= and a proposed Determination that wouldexclude these leases from the opera= tion of the Act.  Once the Minister hasapproved the proposal it is ant= icipated that the draft Determination, togetherwith some explanatory materi= al, would be circulated to key stakeholders forcomment.  The material = is intended to be circulated within 4 – 6 weeks. 

 

I hope to be in cont= act with you regarding theproposal by the end of October.
