Emerging from a group of professionals with a responsibility for training and professional improvement who had met informally for 7 years, the recently formed Learning and Development SIG is now proactive in addressing issues related to workplace learning and improvement, performance management, leadership and cultural development, health & well-being and career and personal development. Because learning and development is addressed differently throughout Councils, Local Government professionals are encouraged to attend to share experiences and challenges, learn from and network with colleagues and hear from experts in this growing field.
