The Community Development Special Interest Group aims to challenge the current positioning and portfolio of Community Development within Local Government and make it a higher priority on Councils' agendas.

The Community Development SIG provides a platform for local government CD officers across Victoria to share ideas about the direction of Community Development, the challenges being faced and the accomplishments being achieved. The SIG also provides a support network that assists with building a greater capacity and understanding around the role of community development in the local government environment. Each meeting will focus on a specific topic raised by the CD SIG members throughout the preceding year and will feature guest speakers that will address the topic in detail.
