Ethical decision-making refers to the process of evaluating and choosing among alternatives in a manner consistent with ethical principles. In making ethical decisions, it is necessary to perceive and eliminate unethical options and select the best ethical alternative.
What do you need to make good decisions in the ever-changing environment that is local government? What is our responsibility to the future?

LGPro have partnered with Cranlana Centre for Ethical Leadership to facilitate a 2 x 2 hour online ethical leadership workshops for leaders. The workshops will engage participants in an interactive conversation using a range of thought experiments to open up a lively conversation about how we should respond to ethical challenges.

Aims of the workshop
  • To engage the participants in a high-level conversation about the challenges of ethical leadership and stimulate ethical thinking
  • To increase leaders’ ability to identify ethical challenges in their professional and personal lives provide them with a shared language for discussing ethical challenges
  • To enable leaders to apply different frameworks to ethical challenges in order to critically evaluate possible responses
  • To provide leaders with new ways of managing themselves appropriately in challenging situations, including when the behaviour of others around them deteriorates
  • To provide leaders with additional skills for managing their teams, including building a positive culture that encourages staff to speak up and express concerns
